Your first project

This walkthrough takes you from signing in to a finished, shareable scene.

1. Create an account

Go to use.facet3d.studio and sign up. You can sign in with a magic link (we email you a one-tap link) or with a password. After signing up you'll confirm your email address, which unlocks creating projects.

2. Create a project

From your dashboard, create a new project. Free accounts include one project to explore with; paid plans unlock unlimited projects. Give it a name — you can rename it any time.

3. Add your artwork

Facet shines with vector artwork:

  • Import an SVG to extrude a logo, icon, or shape into 3D.
  • Import a 3D model if you're starting from existing geometry.
  • Add text as its own layer.

See Importing SVG & models for details.

4. Apply a material

Select your object and open the material controls. Start from a preset or dial in your own — adjust colour, metalness, and roughness to get the surface you want. For glass, enable transmission and make sure an environment is set so the refraction has something to bend. See Materials.

5. Light it

Choose an HDRI environment to light the scene and drive reflections. This one step does most of the heavy lifting for a realistic look. See Lighting & HDRI.

6. Add polish

Open the effects panel and layer post-processing — a touch of bloom and grain goes a long way. See Post-processing effects.

7. Export or share

When you're happy:

  • Export a still image (up to 4K on paid plans).
  • Publish a live, interactive link.
  • Embed the scene in a website.

See Exporting & rendering and Sharing & embeds.

Your work is saved to the cloud automatically, and every save is kept in version history so you can always roll back.
