Settings and preferences
Your account, emails, the look of the app, and the editor preferences that make it work your way.
Open Settings from the account menu under your avatar, or go to use.facet3d.studio/settings. The menu beside it jumps between sections, and each one has its own address you can bookmark or share:

Your profile
Your username is part of your published pages' addresses, share.facet3d.studio/@username/…, so you need one to publish.
- Letters only, plus underscores and hyphens. No numbers or other characters. A space becomes an underscore as you type.
- Some names are reserved, such as names that could read as Facet talking to you.
Upload a profile picture and crop it. A new picture reaches everyone the next time their page draws it.
A tick beside a name means Facet has checked the account is who it appears to be. It does not grant anything extra.
Emails
Notifications has two rows:
- Account and security: receipts, plan changes, a payment that failed, security notices and the link that signs you in. These are part of the service, so they cannot be turned off.
- Product news and tips: the occasional note about getting started and what is new. One switch, and every one of these emails has an unsubscribe link that sets it too.
Light and dark
Facet is dark by default. Choose Dark, Light or System, which follows your computer:
- in the editor, from the theme button,
- on the dashboard, from More in the sidebar.
Light is a soft grey rather than bright white. Your scenes, thumbnails, images and colour swatches keep their true colours either way.
Editor preferences
Open Preferences from the editor menu, or press Ctrl ,. Preferences belong to you and this browser. They never change the scene or what anyone else sees.
Editing
- Snap increments for Move, Rotate and Scale: the steps the gizmo snaps to while you hold Shift.
- Orbit glide: how long the view keeps coasting after you let go of an orbit. Lower stops where you stop.
Interface
- Panel side: whether the scene panels open on the Left or the Right. The panels for the selected object take the other side.
- Cursor: Facet uses Facet's own arrow and hands. System uses your computer's.
Install as an app
Facet can live in your dock or taskbar like a desktop app, with no download. Use the install button on the dashboard, which opens your browser's own install prompt.
