History and versions

Go back to an earlier state of a project, or keep several versions of the same idea side by side.

Facet has two ways to keep earlier work, for two different jobs:

HistoryVersions
What it isAutomatic snapshots of one project as you workV1, V2, V3: deliberate copies you name and keep
Good forUndoing a bad afternoonA cube for the header and a blue cube for the footer
WhereVersion history, in the File menuThe version chip next to the project name

History Radiance

While you work, Facet keeps snapshots of the project, at most one every ten minutes, and keeps the newest 150. Each one has a small picture of the scene, so you can recognise it.

Open the editor menu, then File, then Version history. The current state sits at the top. Point at an earlier snapshot and press Recover, then confirm.

Recovering never deletes anything. The state you are leaving is saved as a snapshot first, so you can always change your mind and go back.

Changes made by a connected AI are saved as a snapshot whatever your plan, so you can always undo what an assistant did.

History is part of Radiance. Projects on Free do not keep snapshots.

Versions

A project can hold several versions, V1 to V10 on Radiance and V1 and V2 on Free. Open the version chip next to the project name and press + to make a new one from the version you are looking at. Give it a name if you like: V3 · Blue hero.

Each version saves, publishes and keeps its own history on its own, and does not count as an extra project. See Projects and the dashboard.

Undo

For the last few minutes, Ctrl Z is quicker than either. See Working in the scene.
