Images
Drop a picture on the editor and it becomes your canvas, the way a Photoshop file takes the shape of its image. Then build on top of it.
Drag a PNG, JPG, WebP, AVIF or GIF onto the editor. Facet turns the canvas into a document the shape of your picture:
- the canvas frame takes the picture's exact proportions,
- the picture fills it as the background,
- the camera squares up to it and stops orbiting.
A small pill at the top of the canvas shows the picture's name and size, with a cross to leave the image canvas.
Everything else still works on top. Add shapes, text, models and materials, light them, and run the whole effects stack over the result: a product dropped into a photo, a logo in glass over a texture, a halftone pass over a picture.
Good to know
- Pictures up to 25 MB can be used as a canvas.
- The project needs to have been saved once before you drop a picture in.
- The camera keeps its perspective on purpose, so 3D objects you add still read as 3D.
- Leaving the image canvas with the cross brings orbiting back. The picture stays as the background until you change it in the Background panel.
What visitors see
The image canvas framing is an editor view. A published page and an embed show the picture as the background of the scene, inside whatever box the page gives them. Renders use the canvas frame, so an image render comes out the shape of your picture.
