What is new
The biggest recent changes to Facet, newest first. The version number is shown in the app, so you can tell which you have.
2.99 · Cloners repeat several objects
Drag an object onto a cloner in Layers and it joins what the cloner repeats. The Cloner panel gets a Sources section to share them out in order, reversed, at random or in blocks. Right click a source in Layers to move it or release it. The canvas can also be dragged all the way to the screen edges now. See Cloners.
2.97 and 2.98 · Layers
A panel on the right lists the whole scene as one stack: objects, shader effects, Post FX and the environment. A shader applies only to what sits below it, so you can keep one object clear of an effect. Select, rename, hide, solo and x-ray from the list, drag to reorder or attach, and right click to group. See Layers and groups.
2.96 · Cleaner edges
When the view is still, the editor refines the picture for a moment, the way a renderer adds samples. Thin bright rims on shiny objects settle into clean lines, and rough metal blurs its reflections smoothly instead of in blocks.
2.94 · Sharper environments
Every HDRI in the library shows its resolution, and where there is more than one, you can pick 2K for sharper reflections. See Environment and background.
2.93 · Light mode
Choose Dark, Light or System, in the editor from the theme button and on the dashboard from More. Light is a soft grey, and your scenes keep their true colours. See Settings and preferences.
2.92 · Materials stay in the project
The Library's first section is In this project: every material you make stays listed after it comes off the last object. Duplicate, rename and delete with a right click, and clear unused ones in one go. See Materials.
2.91 · Early Adopter price
Radiance is sold at an Early Adopter price, kept for as long as you stay subscribed, including when you add seats or switch between monthly and yearly. Perpetual is coming soon. See Plans and pricing.
2.90 · A progress bar
Publishing, rendering, imports, AI requests and loading environments show a slim progress bar, and saves show a single glint.
2.89 · More than one light
The studio light became a ball you aim, and you can add up to eight more lights: spot, area, IES and ambient, with moods such as Sunset, Neon and Rim to start from. New projects start lit. See Lights.
2.88 · Effect layers
The shader stack works like a layer list: drag to reorder, set opacity per layer, Solo one effect, and hide rows with Shy. See Shader effects.
2.87 · X-ray
A real see through of a model, where parts inside show through the shell and overlapping parts stack up brighter, with a slice you can scrub through it like a CT scanner. See Shader effects.
2.86 · Heatmap
The scene seen as temperature, depth aware, with contours, a travelling scan and eight palettes. See Shader effects.
2.85 · Node view
The material as a node graph, the way Redshift, Octane and Blender lay one out. Wire patterns and images into any channel, and the sliders and sockets stay in step. See Node view.
2.84 · Text, rebuilt
Text has a proper panel and three modes, Flat, 2D and 3D, with real 3D letters made from the font's own outlines, about three hundred families to choose from, and your own fonts on Radiance. See Text.
2.83 · Paste a link, get a scene
Facet answers oEmbed, so pasting an embed link into Notion, WordPress, Ghost, Discourse or Slack shows the live scene. See Embed on your site.
2.78 · Company sign in
Companies can have everyone sign in through their own identity provider, with the sign in page wearing their logo. See Company sign in.
2.74 · Share one project
Share a single project the way you share a file in Figma. Viewing is free, editing takes a seat. See Share a project.
2.64 · Two step verification
Protect your account with a code from an authenticator app, with recovery codes for when you lose your phone. See Signing in and security.
