Animate

Timelines, keyframes, scroll and hover triggers. Built, being polished, and coming to Facet soon.

Coming soon

Animate is built and is being polished, so it is not in the beta yet. Pressing Animate in the editor shows a short note, and Back to design returns you to your scene. We will let you know the moment it arrives.

What is coming

Animate turns the editor into a motion workspace, with the scene in the middle:

  • A timeline. Capture the scene as snaps, lay them out on a track, and Facet moves between them. Drag blocks to reorder them, trim their edges to change timing, and set how each move eases.
  • Scroll. Tie the movement to the page scroll, so the scene plays as a visitor scrolls past it, including inside sticky sections.
  • Interaction. Make the scene respond to the visitor's cursor and clicks.
  • Motion presets. Ready made movement you can drop onto any object.

This page will cover all of it once Animate is out.

What moves today

While Animate is on its way, a scene can still be alive:

  • Shader effects can follow the visitor's cursor with Follow mouse, and many move over time on their own. See Shader effects.
  • Smoke Fluid and Fluid react to the cursor across the scene.
  • Animated models. Animation stored in an imported GLB or FBX file plays in the editor, in renders and on published pages. See 3D models.
  • Visitors can move the scene. On a published page or an embed, you choose whether visitors can orbit, zoom and drift the view. See Publish.
  • Video. Render a video of anything that moves. See Render images and video.
